Colt Anaconda date ??

I am looking at maybe buying a NIB Anaconda in 44mag. Its my local dealers that he has had in his collection. He obtained it when they firstcame out and it has never been fired. It has a 6in barrel.
I have heard that they had a accuracy problem with the first Anacondas and I want to find out if anyone can date this one. My dealer will hold it for me for a couple of days and Colt wont answer me soon enough. The serial number is AN10291. Any info would be helpful, I just dont want to lay out the 800.00 for it if it is known to have problems.

You may have to get that information from Colt. I don't know of any reference books that list the Anaconda. While serial number data is easly available on older models no one has writtten much on the newer ones.

Some of the first .44 anacondas had tight throats. Mic those first as that was most of the accuracy problem.
People are out to make a mint these days. I bought my Anaconda years ago LNIB for only $300.
