:banghead:I recently purchased a combat commander built on a century frame. when the gun is assembled the slide sits back past the frame about 1/8 of an inch. Not flush like my othe 1911. I have confirmed if is the right spring size also for a commander. Any one have any suggestions?

thanks

I believe this has caused the action to fail to cycle a couple of times while at the range today.

Of itself that wouldn't cause function issues & is not uncommon when matching up parts. It's usually addressed by dressing the back of the slide.

Very odd. I've seen some issues like that before but not to the extent this one is. It's not terrible, but it's more than normal.
Yes, you could fix it by filing down the back of the slide, but since the slide is a Colt and the frame is a Century, I wouldn't mess up the slide. I'd either deal with it as it is or get a Caspian/Fosters/Fusion frame.
