Colt detective special help

I picked up this D.S its a stainless full shrouded 3" D.S.II.The serial # is 0031SU, there is also a small S on the barrel behind the ejector rod..I was told it was from the custom shop and that was it.I am not familiar with Colts and was looking for some info on this gun.

Hi , Same s is located behind ejector rod of My colt DS II also . Mine is a 2 1/4" model. Is your barrel recessed instead of crowned ? .....WVleo

So how do these little beauties shoot?????????? I love the look of 3" smallish frame revos. The SP-101 is too danged heavy for a fun gun. Had a Colt Trooper and an S&W Mod 15 yrs ago, both 4". Preferred the Colt action but couldn't shoot it all that well. I was a pretty green shooter back then. Know a guy that has a 3"DSII. He could be persuaded to part with it.

Hi, very busy at work but should be able to let you know how the 2" Colt DS II i just aquired shoots tommorrow ! Still need other options for carry ......WVleo

Im not sure.I bought it unfired and just decided to get rid of it.

I have a 3" DS-II just like that one. It wasn't a custom shop gun, they just didn't make many of them (I think about 2000 total).

Mine shoots very well.
