Colt Detective Special light primer strikes

My new to me Colt DS has light primer strikes every 10, 12 rounds or so. It happened with three different kinds of ammo. What could be the cause of this and how can I fix it?

B.K. is right, I suspect that someone tinkered with the mainspring to make the double-action easier. If so, the solution is to replace the mainspring with a new one. Since there is evidence someone messed with the lockwork you should have a gunsmith take a look-see - just in case.
