Hi everyone! I am new here & this is a great forum. I recently went to Colts site to look at the Colt Detective & only seen Cowboy pistols. Does Colt still make the Detective? Thanks!

They stopped all manufacture of DA Revolvers several years back. You can still find them NIB or close to new condition on Gunbroker and other sites.

Colt Manufacturing Co. announced the end of its production of double action revolvers in October 1999.

Colt actually produced the last Detective Specials in 1995.

They produced a totally new stainless steel small revolver that externally looked like a Detective Special, but was radically different internally.

This was the Colt "SF-VI", the "DS-II", and the "Magnum Carry.
These were produced from, 1996 to 2000.

Its hard too find them "good old Colt's"~!

Its taken me the better part of four year's to assemble my small collection
of Colt D-frames.

I haven't found that to be the case when it comes to popular models. However those in excellent to new conditions are usually expensive and going up.
