I've owned two. Sure wish I had not sold them, but who could see the future market on these guns. One of my regular EDCs is a Colt Police Positive Special which like the Diamondback is also a D frame. I prefer the smaller D Frame for CC over the K frame S&W. It also has a little more heft and to me handles slightly better than the smaller J Frame S&Ws.

You said the gun was close to mint. Maybe a little on the high side, but can you go to a LGS and order one??? What is a good deal is what your satisfied with and what your willing to pay. I was in the same situation with a vintage S&W Perfected Model back in the 80s. I bit the bullet, brought it home and have never regretted it.

I am at the point in life, I know what I want and don't buy a lot unless it truly fits that bill. What I buy now, I don't ever plan on selling. I've also been known to drop five bills on a set of ivory for my guns.

The Diamondback is my favorite revolver both in 22LR and 38spl. I collect the 22's, but only own one 38 (a NIB 6" blue). I have purchased many 38's, but they were mostly used as trading fodder at shows for the 22's.

They have gotten beyond what I am willing to pay these days.
