Colt Double Eagle 10mm

I have a Colt Double Eagle 10mm LNIB. Where can I find an extra mag for it? Also, what would it be worth at this point? It's an earlier one that came in the cardboard box. I'm not trying to sell it. I just want some input.

I have never owned a Double Eagle ---- from what I remember , they will take ANY of the 1911 type mag in 10mm. ---- The Wilson or CM Shooting Star 10mm mags are the best IMHO.

BTW --- I have some .45acp mags that run 10mm in them just fine -- always worth a try if you have .45acp mags.

I wondered if others might work. Since a 40S&W is an abbreviated version of a 10mm, I wonder if they'd work.

Any 10mm mag that fits a 1911 style will work. I have
had luck with the two for my Double Eagle, and the ones
for my Delta, also the ones for my IAI Javalina. The Mecgar
10mm mags also work fine. Am not up on the value as I
never sell, but have not seen one for less than $650, used,
no box. Shoot and enjoy it !
:D

I found out today what my dealer's cost is on the new Delta Elite 10mm. Now I KNOW what it should be worth. This is one of mine that I just don't feel like I HAVE to shoot.

How does dealer cost on a new Delta Elite compare to a 13 or more year old Double Eagle?

My first duty gun was a Double Eagle in 45 ACP. Its still in my collection. It accepts any standard 1911 mag. Seems the 10mm would as well.

The Double Eagle takes the same mag as the Delta Elite or Delta Gold Cup.
I have had really, really good luck with Mec-Gar mags. GregCoteLLC.com has very good prices and very fast shipping.

The Mec-Gar mags are available in blue or nickel. The nickel works well with a stainless gun.

The Double Eagle is often maligned and is not popular, but is a good gun. I found the 10mm version to be very accurate with good trigger pull in DA or SA. Value is $700-$750, but you have to find a buyer that likes 10mm and the Double Eagle.
