ok, well try this link, hopefully it will work this time

--------http://stevespages.com/pdf/colt_new_frontier,_new_frontier_buntline.pdf---------

try typing it into your browser. that should get you there. be sure to include the underscores, and the comma after the first frontier. Don't include the dashes before http and after the last pdf

it should open a .pdf file

Thanks CRA got it.
My New Frontier is a little different then the ones in the above manual as it does not have a safety bolt and it seems to work fine with both cylinders .22lr and .22mag.

can anyone give any info on this one

frontier scout 62 .22 cal on the barrel ser.#34216P it has a set of stagg looking grips with a gold colored medal (that are missing chunks) and a set of black plastic grips on. also has only one cyl. in 22 mag. some very minor wear marks. i would like to know when it was made what its worth and where to get a 22lr cyl. thanks ahead of time for the help.

Take a look at www.proofhouse.com
here is a link that may or may not work that will take you dircectly to the colt scout page. http://www.proofhouse.com/colt/index.html

you might have to copy and paste it into your browser.

from what i can tell, your revolver was made in 1966 or 1967 (according to that website). Hope this helps.

For pricing info, the only thing i could suggest is go look around www.gunbroker.com or another firearms auction site i think another one is www.gunsamerica, and search for your model. They might be able to give you a ball park price figure. Sorry, but i don't have any input on where to locate a cylinder. actually you might get lucky on the firearm auction sites and come accross a cylinder.

Well I read somewhere recently that Colt actually changed to a non fluted .22 mag cylinder sometime in the early 70's and before that they were fluted.....I guess my Buntline is an early model.
On another note I just sealed the deal on another New Frontier with a 4 3/8 barrel and a Brand new extra buntline(7 1/2") barrel!
These things are addictive!!

The early 22WMR cylinders were not recessed like the 22LR cylinder. Both were fluted. The non-fluted cylinders were used on the commemorative revolvers mostly until 1971. The 22WMR barrels were crowned and the LR barrels were flat at the muzzle. Single cylinder revolvers (cylinders) were often unmarked with the caliber. The unfluted cylinders for the 22WMR cylinder was introduced in the New Frontier and Peacemaker revolver (G-series) and occurred after mid-1971. I believe they hit the shelves around 1972.

Thanks for info 22-rimfire!
Are you saying that none of the New Frontier's came with fluted 22.wmr cylinder's?
Seems like both of mine have fluted 22.WMR cylinders....maybe it's a Canadian thing :)

Here's my first,

And this is the latest...

I beg to differ, 3 of my .22 scouts have flat muzzles and 2 have crowned, all of my commemoratives have fluted cylinders.

just found this in the bottom of my safe in it's original box, wax paper wrap and with its original test target ! Don't know what I'm going to do with it yet but can any of you fine Colt experts tell me what year of manufacture this Colt Frontier Scout .22 ser.# 954xxF would be ?

Hope you all are not tired of talking about this revolver.
I inherited one from my dad but its been just sitting for most of the time for many years.
I've shot it a few times and have become more interested in its history.
It probably shoots better than I do.
I think it is one of the earlier models with serial # 6515Q.
Does that mean it is the 6515th one with the Q suffix?
Does anyone know what kind of value it might have? Don't intend to sell but pass on to one of my sons. Just curious.
