Anyone here know which brand of rubber/synthetic grips for the King Cobra and Anaconda revolvers had a small alignment pin in the grip? This pin was attached to one of the grip halves and located near the top of the backstrap where the web of one’s hand would go.

About all I’m sure of is that they were not Pachmayrs.

Thanks in advance.

Are you saying you had a factory set with a pin , or were these aftermaket grips ?

I have several King Cobras and extra factory grips and I can't remember ever seeing a set with a pin.

Thanks GUNKWAZY,

I'm almost positive that these are aftermarket grips. That pin is attached to one grip panel, has a "mushroom" shaped head and protrudes about 1/8" or so. It's the only such pin in the gripset.

These grips also have finger groves, and a smoother finish on the uncheckered areas than the Pachmayer equivalent. They are a bit thicker than usual in that web area too. They have gold Colt medallions which very much look to be original with the grips. Lastly, these look to be a quality set if that helps.

BTW, when I posted this my hope was to possibly get your help on this. I have read your Colt-related threads (both here and elsewhere) with interest for quite awhile. Thanks again.

I'm guessing that they may, but I get surprized every now and then.
Colt used a couple differnt mfg firms for their rubber combat & presentation grips for the DA revolvers. They had some that were supplied by Hogue for a short time which were one piece, then there was a couple different styles of 2 piece & clam-shell styles, but I can't seem to remember those with a pin on a Colt.
The only DA Colt grips/stocks that I can remember with a pin is the laminated Python Elite grips made by Excaliber.
Warner, you may want to post that up on the Colt Forum, maybe Dr. "D" or someone else there will remember the grips.
