Hello everyone, I finally found a parts 1903 hammerless in 32 caliber. 'member i was looking for a frame for a 380 acp hammerless? Anyways, are these two interchangeable? will the 380 slide fit the 32 frame? Vice versa?

the parts 32 has a severely pitted slide, barrel is rusted shut in it but frame is good. the 380's slide is in pristine condition except that frame is warped and rusted.

any help is appreciated.

The .380 cartridge was always a problem in this model, but Colt kind'a looked the other way until the U.S. Navy jumped them in 1944, and then (but only then) did they do anything about it.

Sometimes a .32 frame will accept a .380 magazine, and sometimes they won't. Check and see how your .380 magazine does in the .32 frame.

The ejector/cartridge guides are different - or at least should be. Use the .380 ejector on the .32 frame if you rebuild it into a .380.

The .380 slide should fit on the .32 frame, but when the pistol is in battery the slide & frame contour at the back may not match.

The Colt .32 1903 Pocket Model and .380 1908 Pocket Model were each serial numbered in their own series. You should check to see when each of the guns you have were made. You can do this at: www.proofhouse.com

If the two guns were made at approximately the same time you have a better chance of things working. The wider the spread between manufacturing dates the more likelyhood of having problems.
