Gentlemen,
I am having trouble finding information and value on a Colt 1911. Slide is marked COLT COMMANDO SERIES and LIGHTWEIGHT COMMANDO EDITION. Hogue Grips. Manuel is MKIV/Series 80. But is not listed in the models. I have the box. Local gun dealer with 40 years of experience could not identify and has not had another one like it through the shop.

Thanks in advance

Agreed. A case of parts bin engineering with an OACP slide on a Commander receiver, with roll markings to make it seem something special. No trouble at all for Colt when they got a big enough order to make it worthwhile.

Low serial number make a difference? It's 010. Thanks rcmodel and Jim Watson.

This sounds like one of those "limited runs" of a given set of features, made to fill an order for a large distributor who wanted something unique to sell. Colt did many of these "limited runs" in the 1990s; being a Series 80 is the clue. It still sounds like a perfectly nice gun, but don't overpay for it thinking it is a collectible.
