I have a recently purchased Colt with a muzzle brake that I would like to remove and replace with an A2 flash hider. Anyone know what is involved in removing the pinned and (I am assuming) soldered muzzle brake and threading the barrel? Any ideas to cost for someone competent to do this? Any recommendations on a 'smith? Is this something I can do myself? I tend to do fairly well on all my other 'smithing endeavours.

Thanks,
Greg

Best advice to be had would be at http://www.ar15.com most likely. From what I've heard it's going to be a lathe operation to get correct threading on your barrel. I've heard prices w/o installing the flash hider (just remove and thread) from $60 to $125.
