Hey all,
Well SWMBO gave me the go ahead to get a couple pistolas this holiday season. Now, I'm pretty sure one is going to be another Colt 70. I already have one and LOVE it. The other one, I'm kind of up in the air on. I'm not sure whether to get a Colt NRM 80, a Colt NRM 80 commander, or a SA GI. Are the series 80 parts really something to be concerned about? Would y'all rather have a SA 70 series instead of a Colt 80?

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

If they were free, I'd take the Colt. There is a $200 price difference (if you can get a good deal on the Colt). Both are great reliable guns. For my money, I'd still buy the Colt. Better re-sale, prettier gun.

There's a nice on in the FS forums for $600.

Not to start a flame war, but I really believe the Colts are in another league compared to the SA's. I've owned numeorus 1911's, with only one sub-par Colt (it was a Gold Cup). Currently own a NRM SS Commander that is one of the best I've ever had in terms of fit, finish and accuracy. Bachmann Pawn and Gun in DFW has very good deals on Colts btw.
