Colt Official Police Fraud??

I want to try and see when this Colt Official Police

It also has NHP 331 on the bottom of the grip as well, I assumed this to be a police department's markings.

I didn't have any trouble finding it.
Both proofhouse.com and the coltsmfg.com lookup agree on 1950.
Where's the fraud?

I agree that NHP 331 is likely a department number. Nebraska Highway Patrol, New Haven Police, who knows?
