I have an Official Police Service Revolver, Mark 3. It is blued and has a 4 inch barrel-38SW. I helped a friend out and got it for 200 bucks. It has been reblued and is in great condition, though the colt emblem is kind of rubbed out. Timing is great and it wasn't shot much. Cuzz of the blueing, will this gun never be worth any money?:cool:

Larry,

From a collector standpoint, the short answer is no. However, the OP MK III is a great gun built on the strong MK III frame. I'd say you paid a good price for a great shooter. If it was mine, I would just shoot it and enjoy it. It will give you a lifetime of service.

Photos?

Sounds very strange to me. Never heard of an Official Police MK III in .38 S&W?The Official Police was was so chambered in WWII Lend Lease revolvers, they were marked 38/200.Official Police MKIII was only chambered for .38 Special.I believe some kind of error, either in caliber or model description has occured.

My Mistake

It is a 38 Special...I think keeping it is in order. Looking forward to shooting it. Not a bad trigger, either!

Thanks!:uhoh:
