I just inherited a Nickel Plated Colt Police Positive .38 Special CTG from my dad. He was a police officer in the 60's. The serial number is 19935R. Is this revolver old enough to be one that he might have carried then? Any help as to the age, value, etc. would be appreciated. I am not interested in selling but would like to know the approximate value.

Thanks

Thank you. I did and it seems the gun may be older than I believed. It looks more modern than indicated on proofhouse. I'll post a pic when I get home tonight so that you and others who may be willing to help can see it.

Thank you again.

Part of the problem is that you have a Police Positive Special, Not a Police Positive. These are different revolvers, with each being numbered in they're own series.

Go back and check again. ;)
