I just picked up a Colt SF-VI which I believe was Detective Special last model in stainless with a light double action only pull. Mine has a factory bobbed hammer that won't lock back in single action so this is a true DAO revolver.
My problem is: When I took it to the range it won't fire if I try to shoot fast. Sometimes the first shot will go, but the second will never go if i try to fire rapidly a second shot.
On examination the primer will show a very light strike off center on the cartridges that don't go off.
If I fire it slow and one at a time it is fairly reliable, but I know that's not how it was designed.
I'm a relative newbie when it comes to revolvers. Can you help me?
