Colts take time to find the good deals.

Within the last 3 years I bought a $390 Diamondback (pristine), a mechanically impeccable Officer's Target .38 for $350 and "the Queen"...an amazing Officer's Special .22 for just over four bills.

Take your time, have ready cash and the deal will find you.

Best of luck

Well the itch is scratched for now. My kid and I took the gun to the range and it worked flawless. We had a good time sampling ammo. I printed some 8x11 targets off the internet and here are the results.
The gun hit pretty good with the 148 wadcutters and 158 hard cast so I left the sights alone. The full power 158 JHPs were centered, but high and off the paper. I knew I could bring them down with a couple clicks so I left them alone. I liked where the previous owner had them set. I shot my Redhawk at the same distance for comparison. For the first day out I was really impressed with how it shot. This thing could definitely out shoot me.

Had a pretty good group for four rounds, one hit the same hole. The 148 wadcutters did the best.

Sorry about the crappy pics, I forgot my camera and had to use my kids cell phone.

We put a lot of lead down range. When the targets were used up we started shooting a plastic bottles for fun.

My kid shooting the Trooper. He didn't like the all black sights. He likes the red ramp with the white out line. I'm used to it so it didn't bother me.

Mk III

I traded a guy even-up for a rifle back in '93 (that cost me $275)

I've shot a handful of deer with it.

That's an original Trooper with the same lockwork as a Python. You did very good.

Good Job

I have one in SS, the DA trigger pull (as you might expect on a duty gun) is very heavy, but the SA is fine
