Colt (Walther) 1911 Gold Cup Problem

I have a Colt (Walter) 1911 Gold Cup that I did a complete detail strip on. After reassembly the hammer will not stay back. What did I do wrong?

I did not stone anything, they are just factory parts.

I don't think the sear is engaging the hammer and it could be the spring isn't putting pressure on the sear such that the sear will engage thehammer. Take it out that flat spring and put it back in with the spring atop of the sear. Reassemble and try again.
