I am somehow missing the front sight on a Colt Woodsman. The frame is stamped "Match Target" with the Colt logo. This has a six inch bbl. In need of the Front Blade and the two pins holding it in. Numrich does not have the exact match for the "Match Target" blade so I am looking at other Woodsman blades. The slot is 1/10 inch wide so I am to the point where I need the front post height.

Numrich has Woodsman Challenger 1/10 inch blade that is 0.245 inch high
Numrich also has Woodsman Sport and Target 1/10 inch wide that is 0.385 inch high.

Which one? Your help is very appreciated. This will be set into place with LocTite. I am guessing I use the blue LocTite?

Go with the .385 blade. I have a second generation Woodsman Target with adjustable rear sight.

If it's too tall it can be machined down to size for your Woodsman. As far as the pins are concerned most reputable gunsmith should have pins that will fit or any hard wire cut to length should work. If pinned properly loc-Tite shouldn't be needed.

Of Course!!

Man ~ thanks for stating the obvious. You can grind it down, but you cant put it back. Why the heck didn't I see that?

Wont be the exact correct sight, but will make this work.
They all look similar anyway.

Thanks again!

I have a 2nd series MT and have been wanting to find a fiber-optic front sight insert. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing, or will I have to fabricate my own? Also, any idea what size pins they are? Does one need a cup punch to remove/install them?
