Colt woodsman trigger not engaging

Hi I m new here and hope you can help.

My Colt Woodsman's trigger is not engaging the sear.

when I lift the trigger bar it engages but left to its own devices it kinda misses
the mark. I have not taken it out yet but am assuming I may need another.

if I do does anyone know where I can get one.....?

There is a spring in the trigger that pushes the trigger bar up.

I would take the side-plate off, or slide stop if you have one, and clean it real good before I did anything else.
It most likely is just gummed up with old oil & dirt.

That's what mine did years ago. Found that the sear was broken.

I would contact Alex Hamilton in San Antonio, Texas. He is the only guy I can think of that might have parts. He fixed one for my FIL several years back.

pre woodsman

its actually a pre woodsman but I am assuming (I hope) that it is basically the same.

I took off the trigger bar and it looks fine to me, now I guess I will take the rest apart and hope i can get it all back together.
