Comanche III?

Does anyone here have any experience or know about
the Comanche III? I was looking online and found a
ss .357 with a 4" for 260 new. Seems super low priced?
Is this a junk gun? or am I missing something?

I wouldn't mind to add it to my collection if its on the
level.

LLama, made in Spain. Listed at New in the Box at $275. Quality can be very good, or it can be very bad. Since LLama is long gone repair parts are getting harder and harder to find.

i was under the impression there still being made new, are you sure they're a llama product?

I've heard their pretty spotty quality wise, if you look around you can probably find a decent used gun for around the same price. I bought a brand new Ruger sp101 for $325 a couple of years ago which IMHO is a much better gun.

another site said they're made by Laserre of Argentina, appears this company is also know as Rexio, the products look identical although I couldn't find the word commanchie used on their site.

further research indicates rexio is now comanche arms.

cool looking gun but the name changes and the question of parts availability/repair services spooks me.

The name Comanche is too good not to be recycled. I believe someone in South America is making a 45LC/410 combo using that name, But the Comache III is a good old LLama.

llama did make the comanchie 3 but it looks like a new, different company is making them now. It certainly possible that they bought the tooling from LLama though.

also possible this is an old LLama that's sold new but was manufactured awhile back.

About the Gun -
Comanche revolvers were the flagship of Gabilondo's revolver range produced from 1975 -1997. They were copies of large framed Smith & Wesson revolvers. Although of a very high standard, they were unable to compete successfully in the US market.
About the Manufacturer -

Thanks guys for the info on these. If they stopped making them in 97 then I think I might pass. I want something I can get parts for if needed.

Might take the other persons suggestion and look for a good used revolver.

I don't know if there is a Llama connection, but the Comanches being sold new now are made in Argentina. I've heard mixed reviews about the new guns.
I've never shot one of the revolvers, but I did have one of the single shot .410/45Colt pistols and it was okay for what it is.
They are alot lighter then the old Llama Spanish made revolvers. Personally, I liked the feel of the old ones.

It appears Rexio (or Rexiode), began manufacturing their RS-357 series revolvers (Comanche III), sometime in the late '90's. It would seem possible that they purchased all the necessary tooling and machinery from Gabilondo y Cia (Llama), when they went bankrupt in the early '90's. The new versions from Argentina are probably not old stock from Spain as Llama offered the Comanche III in a blued or satin chrome finish, whereas since 2000, Rexio was constructing them out of stainless steel.

I paid $250 for it used ....... other than the fact that it doesn't like aluminum cased ammo, it's great. If I could go back in time, I would have saved up about $100 more and got an SP 101.
