With these...

attachment.php

Didn't even know they were in there. Found them while putting some stuff up!

Isn't that unusual to have an AR-15 markerd Colt with a FA selector switch?

Pretty sure I have nothing like that in my closet.

"didn't even know these were in there"

Yeah, right... we might have believed you had those been SP1s, could see some collections getting big enough a person might accidently forget about an SP1 or two.

But as if we are that gullible to think that anyone could forget about full auto goodness, unless they were knocked unconcious for a couple years.

Dr.Rob, those look like something along the lines of a Model 602 early rifle where everything was an AR15 before the M16 designation was adopted.

The Model 601s were marked "Colt/Armalite AR15" like this,

The gun he has posted above is probably the immediate succesor to the 601.

Definite full auto toy there with the auto sear. But a VERY VERY early gun.

You forgot they were there???? You just sort of stumbled over them???

:scrutiny:

I keep looking in my closet for stuff I forgot about. Just looked for the 4th time. Nope....no AR's/M16's

Excuse me, I need to go and look again. :banghead:

You wanna come clean out my basement? Find two guns, you can keep one...

Mike ;) :O

You sound like a person I know who forgot how many transferable Steyr Augs he had till he counted them.

:p

I should probably clarify things a bit. I did just stumble upon them in a closet, but not my closet. :(

They were in the closet of a place where I conduct business affairs and such. I freaked out when I saw them, though. I don't get much time around Class III stuff. There is a good possibility I'll get to wring them out soon! :D

Since I had so much fun finding and fondling them, the least I could do is share them with you fine folks.

As cool as they are, they do seem a bit 'cheap'. Kind of rough on the outside and very plasticy.

Hope I didn't cause too much grief letting you all wonder. :neener:

Not to mention the fact that the flash hiders are late models...

and marked property of US Government.

Hmmmm

Ooookay. You work someplace where full-auto government-issue weapons are just gathering dust in closets, waiting for someone to take them home.
Where can I pick up an application for employment?

If that is the case, than maybe you wouldn't mind trading for and/or selling one? :)

I hope you are in LE or the military, cause if you are caught with those in your possession, Its 5 years mandatory in the Federal Pokey for each weapon.

If they are civilian legal and have the right papers for transfer they are worth what about $10,000-$15,000 Each??????? or is it more these days????

So you work for the DEA, ATF, Military or the FBI?????? Or do you work for the Secret Service, or HALIBURTON???????

Geez guys!

I can assure you everything is legal and legit with these rifles. There's nothing hinkey going on. The building and 'closet' they are stored in is very secure.

And yes, I do work for the 'government', as it were.

I just thought you all would like to see them. I didn't mean to throw you all into fits... :(

;)

Any fool can see that's Govt. issue floor tile and a Govt. issue door that they are leaning against. :p

Those things would be way cool with a Cavalry Arms furniture upgrade.

Boy, I'd be ecstatic if I even found one semi-auto SP1 in my closet.

Just curious, when was the last time those babies saw some sunshine and gunpowder?

Good eye! :D

Honestly, I don't know. I had heard about them coming in several months ago, but wasn't aware they were here until couple days ago. If they were shot recently, I could't tell it. They were very, very clean.

No hissies here.. I've just never seen an FA ar-15, much less one marked "Uncle Sam."

We all secretly wish we had closets like that at the office.
