I have a Colt Commander that I would like to have the barrel bushing relaced on.
The stock bushing is so loose it wont even stay tight against the slide face.
It just about falls out during disassembly. Accuracy is nothing to speak of.
What should it cost to have a new bushing fitted using the original barrel?
I dont want a match gun but this is very sloppy.

You may choose to do what I did and order an MGW bushing from Brownells. Tuner helped me out with one after a smith butchered my new NRM stainless commander. They come fitted to the factory barrel on the inside diameter and them you just fit the outside until it fits your slide. I have fit drop in bushings before in under a half hour. Otherwise, you might opt to send the top end to Wilsons and have them fit a bushing for you. I did that on an old Norinco and it changed from a shotgun pattern shooting firearm to a one hole wonder for about $ 60.00 including shipping. Prices may have changed as that was 2 years ago, but its worth looking at if you aren't comfortable fitting one yourself.

HEY!

FROCKDUTCH MY MAN! Where ya been hidin'?

The MGW bushings don't...to the best of my knowledge...come in Commander length and have to be cut in a lathe on a mandrel. Pretty sure that King's lists a Commander bushing as a drop-in or a hard-fit. Just to be on the safe side, I'd check to make sure that ANY drop-in bushing doesn't
smack the forward locking lug on the barrel before droppin' the hammer
on a round.

Luck!
