Commander style hammer question

Will the standard GI grip saftey that comes with the springfield mil-spec work with a commander style hammer? Is there any clearence issures?

This is mostly likely a stupid question but i can't really recall seeing any pictures with this setup. Please enlighten me.
 
You will have to notch the grip safety in order to use the Commander hammer. The attached picture shows what it looks like.

The work was done by John Harrison of Precision Gunworks (Canton, GA). He is both a great smith and a great person. I am a very satisfied repeat customer, and I have another project in his queue. His guns are built around one idea: They must run.
