Commentary in today's school paper: Gun nuts' have no real excuse

So, do we think this was for a grade, and if so, what grade do we think he got?

I love that marihuana smoking has never killed anyone. So, that guy I prosecuted for getting completely stoned and driving/crashing, killing his girlfriend, that was a traffic accident, right?
 
i don't even know where to begin with this moron.

geez. everyone seems to think our govt is so perfect,
and i love you guys always referencing the blue helmets!- no one ever even consideres the possibility one day it could happen.

so since our govt is so perfect, we will NEVER need to usurp it, ever. there will never be a burgular in your house, evER.

considering studies have shown after smoking MJ, people scored 99% of what they scored on SAME driving test sober, yeah, i would call it a traffic accident, or that he was also drunk.

granted, a person could become so super stoned it would affect their driving, but that comment irked me a little.
driving drunk is 1000 times worse, and causes WAY more deaths.
im sick of people trying to say weed is so bad, but alcohol is OK. it isnt .
it is much much worse in so many ways.

no one EVER died from MJ poisoning.

New research appears to again debunk the myth that marijuana never kills. In an abstract titled “Acute cardiovascular fatalities following cannabis useâ€, authors L. Bachs and H. Morland reported six cases of young adult deaths that could only be attributed to marijuana use.

All six young people had very recent marijuana ingestion as verified through postmortem blood samples. Broad toxicological blood analysis found no other drugs present and no other possible cause of death. Similar cases have been reported in the literature, but most tests were based on urine samples, which do not adequately narrow the time period of ingestion as do blood studies.

I purchased the original article and reviewed it.

Only ONE of the individuals in the case citations was a young adult, at 17 years of age. The other five ranged in age from 37 to 42. These were not "young adults", they were mature men. Two of those had a known history of illicit drug use, one looks like he was also a IV drug user. Each of those when autopsied showed slight to severe atheromatosis, and one of those was on prescription drugs for a preexisting heart condition. The authors of the article did not claim to find a definitive link between consumption of cannabis and sudden death due to cardiovascular issues, but that there needs to be additional studies done on this topic. The acutal article is interesting, and does deserve consideration by those who do use cannabis.

In a nutshell, folks with known heart disease, or those at risk of such, should not consume cannabis. Just as they should not consume tobbacco or fail to eat right and get some excercse.

Liberals would do well to keep their pie hole shut concerning a "well regulated militia." This is truly a slippery slope for the Democrats, among many other slippery slopes the Democrats have been sliding down during the past ten years. The miltia is comprised of unpaid volunteer civilians, in other words, NOT professional soldiers. It's so important it's worth repeating---NOT professional soldiers. I love it whenever I hear liberals talk about the 2nd ammendment in terms of arming a militia. Occasionally, I'll hear, "Today's militia is the National Guard." We'll folks, correct me if I'm wrong here, but the National Guard is part of the U.S. ARMY. But wait a second! U.S. Army vs. unpaid voluteer citizens----aren't they equal? Well, to many Democrats, they are equal, and when a lefty speaks from a position of true ignorance, for some strange reason, people listen. Tell a lie enough times, and sooner or later it morphs into the truth.
 
Crime, self defense and 2nd Amendment are all beside the point. They can be debated endlessly, but the fact that an individual should not be denied the freedom to do whatever he/she/it pleases so long as that activity does not harm others is not open to debate. Period.

Isn't this what we call hypocrisy on the author's part?
 
Classic 'public health' non-statistical and non-sensical bull.

I guess at that age, you just want to crusade for the Teddy Bears, and dcannot grasp the fact that gun control has killed over 170million people since 1900.

Lastly, those who say I should not have a gun because 'it's accessability mighbt make me do something voilent/rash' should cast a cold hard look at THEMSELVES and their own LACK OF SELF CONTROL in the mirror.
 
Can someone help me find the ,,,,,,, oh,,, nevermind,,,,,,,,, I would not deal with them as needed anyway,,,,,,,, some day, we will HAVE to deal with them,,, but it is not now.
