Considering one of these but have not seen one. Anyone have real-world experience? I'm not LEO, just want a quality optic on an AR. I have tried el cheapos to see whether I liked the idea, and I do but I don't want anymore that won't hold zero or that have unreliable adjustments. Oh, and I don't have an ACOG budget.

I'm an Aimpoint fan and own a T-1 and an M4S. I have also had the opportunity to try the PRO, which is essentially an M3 with a 2MOA dot. It's a fantastic sight, and it's even more amazing when you consider that you get the WHOLE PACKAGE for about $400-$415 commercially (MSRP is $440). I honestly do not believe a better deal exists on the market. I've seen Aimpoints take abuse that has caused other RDS optics to fail. Your battery power is several years, as opposed to anything else on the market which is in the hundreds of hours, not tens of thousands like Aimpoints with their CET and ACET features.
The PRO is an absolute co-witness with AR15 same-plane BUIS, or with a standard front sight post and rear BUIS or fixed sight that is same-plane. The QRP2 mount is secure and strong and very durable.

Thanks for the input. I have not been able to find one of these to look at but the available information makes it sound like a good balance of cost and performance.

If you have ever looked through an Aimpoint, this is the same thing with no difference. It has a 2MOA dot like what is offered with the M3 and M4/M4S. My T-1 has a 4MOA dot and the M4S has a 2MOA. The T-1 sits on a PSD/PDW AR with a 7.5" barrel, and it's for close-in CQB employment. The 2MOA M4S works better for longer shots due to the smaller dot, so it's mounted on my 11.5" AR for both short and longer range employment.
If you want an RDS, there is not a better option for the price. I decided against it for personal reasons due to the fact that my cheek weld requires me to have the higher lower-1/3 co-witness since the absolute co-witness is just a titch too low for my face. However, if I was able to comfortably shoot absolute co-witness, I would have passed on the M4S and waited for the PRO to save about $300. When you consider that it comes with the lens covers and all that hoopla, and buying a standard M3 and getting a mount with it will cost you $200-250 more, you really can see the savings.
