Ive been looking though the trading post and ive noticed that there are several AR lowers and AKs that are horribly over priced, if it were still pre nov-7 08. What kinda ticks me off is guys that intervene and hijack the thread griping about how they would never pay that much for that item, and how its a complete rip off.

Please stop it. For one it is very rude to the seller, who is just trying to sell his item for a profit. Ya so the item is over priced, but who doesn't know that. If someone wants to fork over $250 for a stripped lower, more power to em. But please stop the bickering.

Ya I like to remember the good ole days of DPMS stripped lowers for $119 just a few months back. But reality is reality, and you don't have to buy em for $250 if you don't want to. I'm just asking that y'all extend common courtesy to your fellow members.

We do live in a free enterprise system.(so far,at least)Supply & demand controls that.Assuming calmer heads prevail, this will work it's self out.

"If someone wants to fork over $250 for a stripped lower"

Why not, it's only money and have you checked the price of Type 2 Python grips recently? Everything has gone up, up, up. There's a set of Type 1 grips on ebay with a BIN price of over $500. Used to be you could a Python or two for that kind of money.

But anyway, you're right about not buttin' in.

John

yeah, it's rude

however, there should be a sticky at the top that says "read this before you spend $250 on a stripped lower"

I have never had this happen to me, but it is rude and unnecessary. So let’s keep to the highroad and mind our manners :)

As I walked into my local sporting goods store this am to make arrangments for him to recieve my new purchase I told him I know it was a bit over priced but.... and he said sometimes it makes no differance what the price is if you want it and your willing to pay it ! right! ?

Would you let your brother get screwed by a salesman just because he was ignorant? Or would you try to educate him?

I'll agree that supply and demand is the fault of the BUYERS but that only means we need to educate them.

Once the buyers are educated then the sellers have to drop their prices back to reasonable numbers.

I see nothing wrong with calling out someone who's trying to hose someone else.

Forum courtesy lets the buyer beware. IF, and only if, the seller asks the public why his item isn't selling, or is his price too high, then one may educate him. otherwise, let the buyer do the research. It's rude to crap all over someone's thread... no matter how high his prices may be. If they're too high, nobody will buy the items and he'll learn.

If they sell... well... that's called capitalism, folks.

Well then we should at least should be allowed to mock the buyers who paid too much. After all, it's their fault, right?

Also, I have a stripped lower for sale, first $400 takes it! (kidding of course)

Heck!

Im not. Id take $400 for a stripped lower any day. I got a bunch of them. Now, all I have to do is find some sucke...err person to want to pay me that much

Other gun fora ban any comments on the trading forum other than bids and questions.

If I sold on a forum, I'd be irate with the j'accuse who mocked my buyers and disparaged my pricing. Would you do that in a store? Would you be allowed to do that in a store?

Any comments are fair game if you sell on a forum.

Selling something on an Internet forum is like selling something on a street corner. Anybody can walk by, comment and yell at you. On the other hand, selling something on a legitimate auction site is like selling something in a store. You can kick people out and not allow certain people in.

I've never seen a legitimate auction where random people are allowed to post public comments about the item being sold. The seller may get "I hate you" private messages, which may be deleted and forgotten. Thus, sell your stuff on a legitimate auction site if you can't stomach the haters.
