Comp-Tac Infidel.

Well, I started looking for a IWB holster for my Kimber Custom. I ended up deciding on the Comp-Tac Infidel with a Gurkha Strut. The reason I chose this is mainly due to the high heat and humidity down here in Louisiana and the fact that my sweat seems to create rust faster than any chemical known to man. Kydex doesn't absorb moisture and therefore it sounded like a good idea.

So, I order it. Five days later it is in my mailbox. I rush home like a kid going to find christmas presents under the tree. I get there, rip open the big white envelope and there it is.

I set the tension screws and slipped the holster in. It attaches very snugly to my 5.11 Tactical basket weave belt. I was honestly shocked that it is very comfortable. The holster pulls the butt of the gun deep into my side so even the full size 1911 is easy to conceal with just a t-shirt.

I ended up wearing it for the rest of the day that day and all day yesterday while at the house messing around. (Don't have a CCW yet, class is next weekend.)

The infidel is basically a summer special / summer carry style holster and adding the gurkha strut helps keep the holster from rocking back and forth on the hip. I have found that it is easiest to conceal and most comfortable for me while directly at the 3:00 position.

The gun draws very fast from this holster and can be re-holstered just as fast without even looking. Overall, I am very impressed with the holster. At 65 bucks for the build I feel that it is a better choice than the Gurkha holster made by comp-tac because you can swap the clips out for loops if you feel the need.

$50 for the base Infidel holster, $5 for the 1.5" clip and $10 for the Gurkha Strut with 1.5" clip. I also purchased a sheet of their moleskin and applied it to the back of the holster. It softens the edges of the holster and actually makes it quite a bit more comfortable against unprotected skin.

I suggest all you kydex guys at least give it a look!

+1 to the Infidel. I use it mainly for my P2000.

Though I use a Milt Sparks #1 Heritage (similar to SSII) for my fullsize 1911. Glad to hear the infidel works well for a 5" 1911, might have to give it a try.

The biggest advantage for the Infidel is the quick on/off.

I use the Infidel for my Kahr MK40 and it is very comfortable. I also had a very satisfying experience with this purchase. Arrived in about a week. I will definately purchase from Comp-Tac again.

How do you apply this exactly, is it self-adhesive? If so, does it wear well, or start peeling off pretty quick? Thanks.

Something to add to the infidel holster. I've been primarily using the clip for the quick on/off. After a while, it would lose tension in the clip and I'd have to readjust the screw to give it more tension.

I got the belt loops from Comptac to try out. Although I lose the ability for really quick on/off, the belt loops made the holster much, much more comfortable and stable.

The moleskin has an adhesive backing on it. Just make sure you make the edges round and don't allow them to lap over the edges of the holster or they will roll up.

I haven't had that problem with the clips yet. They seem to be keeping tension quite well.

+1 on CompTac in general. I use an MTAC with my CZ75.
