Im looking for a good paddle holster that can be EASILY concealed under a suit jacket. Comp-Tac seems to have a good design but no one I know carries one. Any ideas??
I have one and it is a fine holster. Very pleased with it. However, it is not well suited for CCW if you are looking for a small profile.
Now that sweater weather is coming, it will be fine used appendix carry but under a suit coat I think IWB is your best bet. Mine is straight drop so it isn't very close to the body as a 15 degree cant at 3 O'clock.
I have their C-Tac IWB holster and it is a fine piece. It is comfortable and adjustable in several directions. I can't speak to their paddle holsters for concealability, but their quality is top notch.
I have a c-tac and the set-cant with the paddle option.
When using the paddle, my gun is IMO quite visible- there's too much depth to the whole setup, and the fit to my belt is loose enough that the holster can't force the grip into my body (which I believe is a requirement for true concealability). I like it otherwise- it's convenient, fits the gun well, and is well made... but unobtrusive it is not.
I have the CTAC and hate it. It is one of the most uncomfortable holsters for my body I have ever tried. I know they are great holsters, they are just not great for me. All of my IWB leather and OWB leather holsters are great for me. I like the idea of kydex OWB, but I wanted something that was concealable as well...seems to be hard to find.
I purchased the settable cant paddle/belt slide holster a while ago for the same reason as you - a comfortable, concealable OWB holster. Well, it was comfortable and OWB, so I guess two out of three ain't bad?? Sorry....
Anyway, I told the folks at comptac I wasn't pleased and they offered me to swap for another holster and I chose the CTAC and love it! I carry my 229 all day with no problems.
As an aside, comp-tac service, quality and craftsmanship have been superb! Highly recommend them.
