Local outdoor range, run by the Washington Department of Parks and Recreation:

$6.00 Annual membership
$4.00 per visit, whether you stay fifteen minutes or five hours.
Targets are 4/$1.00 or BYO.

The only drawback is that they're in Washington, so no chance of running into any Class III stuff.

$10 for the entire day.

One free target and free eye and ear protection.

25 yards, indoor, ventilated (but not very well, full auto AK will stifle the whole range in 5 mins)

10 bucks to rent any normal gun.

15 bucks to rent any MG.

Everything is fine, full auto, 50 cal, etc...

One time a guy was shooting his gun sideways like a gangbanger and the owner came in and made fun of him so bad that the guy left, it was very funny but then the owner felt bad afterwards.

Last time I went to an indoor range the price was $12.50 for all day. You get one free target. I usually take targets with me because the price is $.50 ea. after that. I don't shoot at indoor ranges much. I prefer outdoor ranges. Those are priced at $10.00 for all day.

Private range a friend of mine is a member of, up in N. Cali.

$10 annual membership. They give you a lock combo and you can come and go as you please year round, bring as many friends as you want. They just ask that you pick up your trash and brass. Oh, and not to shoot at the airplanes coming and going as it is next to a small airfield.

Range has six 25 yard pistol range, four 100 yard rifle range and a couple shotgun/clay pigeon ranges.

My friend feels so bad they only charge $10 bucks, he always send them $20 every year.

Cali isn't all bad. Just three places, SD, LA and SF. The rest of the state is awesome

At first, I was shocked at the range prices when I moved to California. For $300, I ransomed a one year pass at a beautiful, clean outdoor range with covered shooting stations, a tin can berm, and no ammo restrictions. This seems like a lot up front, but it works out to $5.76/day when I go once a week. And I go at least once a week.

Not so bad afterall!

Wow I didn't realize it could run into so much money shooting at a private range. Man I live on 320 acres and my dad lives on 320 acres about a mile from me. Between the two of us we have a rifle range marked out to 500yds a 25yd pistol range and a 125yd rifle range. And just in case it rains we built a 20yd pistol range at the neighbors which is under a pole barn. It's funny what some of us take for granted.

"My range." Let's see:

Annual membership (unlimited range time 24 hr/day, you get the keys): $100. Per day pay to shoot is not an option
Protective wear eye/hearing: No charge. You should bring your own, but the range has each available as needed.

Now the daily pay to shoot ranges:

3 locally $5-7/day. Glasses/muffs loaned free for the asking at each. You are guaranteed 60 minutes of shooting time at which time you are free to get back in line for another 60 minutes at no additional charge. No line? No wait. Shoot as long as you care to.

Not so bad either way. 2 of these local ranges offer 1 year free range time if you buy a gun from them.

"Wow I didn't realize it could run into so much money shooting at a private range."

Tell me about it. Definately not like the days when I lived in a place with relatively quick access to BLM land. Still, even the amount I pay seems like a bargain compared to many of the places mentioned above that charge by the hour.

$40 per year membership at private club, anytime, any day, as much as, and as fast as I want to shoot, trap, bow, pistol and rifle, with the gate code and can bring friends for free. I take my own eyes, ears, targets and ammo. Much cheaper than before.

One trip, One person:
$8 range
$1 eyes
$1 ears
$10 ammo
$? Targets
$5 rental per gun

Ohio has ranges on some public land. For those, $5/day for all day or $24/year (I have that one). I think that's only for ranges that actually have range officers (class "A"), others no charge. The one I go to is outdoor, 25/50/100 yards, plenty of stalls in each, some covered some uncovered. They provide target holders (some of the ranges don't), and might loan you ear protection if they have it to spare. There were some restrictions on shotguns, but I'm not sure what they were. I didn't pay attention during that b/c I don't own a shotgun yet. Only pistols allowed on the 25 yard range, 3-shot burst from semi-autos and then a breather is required. A guy last week had a .50BMG surplus aircraft machine gun, legal and fine at that range as long as he wasn't creating a nuisance.

Indoor range that I've been to in Cleveland, $12/16/18 per hour, for 1 or 2 people in a stall, the last is if you bring a rifle. Target holders are provided, targets are not (sold there, tho). I forgot how much they charge for a box of cartridges, I'm sure it's high. $7.50 for gun rental, $2.50 every time you want to switch. They offer annual fees, but I've forgotten them. It's not too bad a deal if I brought everything with me, gas prices being what they are and the public range being a two hour round trip.

If I lived back home in Arkansas, free free free. No end of friends and relatives with places to shoot.

Outdoor range

At the San Juan Wildlife range we pay $50 per year and we get the combination to the gate.
We have about 300 acres, and that includes five trap ranges with 5 stations each. We have six pistol ranges, two that go to fifty yards, and two rifle ranges, one that goes to 600 yards. Plus we have IPSC on Saturdays and IPDA on Sunday, plus we have a 25 yard .22 shoot on tuesday nights.

So I can spend one minute or a whole day for just the price of my ammo and my yearly fee.

$100.00 for the year to shoot 365 days. www.cjrpc.com One of the best clubs in the East. If any fellow New Jerseyians would like to join me for a day of shooting, just send me an email. I usually shoot every Sunday. :)

Rangetime: $5 per half hour per shooter, $3 for members. You get a free 3 month memebership with a firearm purchase. I cant recall how much a year's memebership is, I make enough purchases not to be concerned with it... You can get a year's membership, with no charge for unlimitied lane rental for $200.

Eye/ears: Free rental. Earplugs are $1/pair though.

Targets: 0.15 (or 0.25) to 0.75 each.

Gun rental: $5, or $5 per half hour, I'm not sure. One-time charge per shooter per visit, if you dont like the G21 and want to rent the Para, you dont get charged for two rentals. You only get one at a time though.

Indoors, pistol and rimfire calibers only.

He used to have an MP5 rental, $15 per half hour.

Total costs:
$50/year.
5 work hours per year.
2 club meetings per year.

What is offered:
Outdoor range with target holder at 25, 50, 100, 200 yards.
Outdoor shooting range has covered concrete pad to shoot off of with 12 benches + enough open space for another dozen offhand or position shooters.
25 yard indoor rimfire range.
Travelling highpower rifle team
ipsc matches
Travelling bullseye pistol team.
NRA Training Couselor and about 20 or so NRA instructors who continuously hold classes for the public and for club members.
Hunter safety classes
Junior rifle competition program

Here, $15/hour, per person. If you both share a lane, it is still $15/hour, so there is no point. Don't go there often.

College, $20/year, unlimited shooting. Screw rules regarding pistols larger than a .22, though (gotta rank NRA Bar 5 to shoot :banghead:, hopefully that rule goies this year like they are talking about).

Now, at home and college, I also got my free range. At home, it is a 300 yard, 25 foot from my door, and at college, only a few miles down the road.
