Comparison between p99 and p2000?

Hey, I'm new to this board but I've been browsing it for a while. I am planning on getting a handgun for the range and for home defense. After doing ALOT of research, I decided on the p99 9mm over the p228 and the USPc9. Only thing is, I've noticed that the H&K p2000 just came out and seems quite similar to the p99. I know the p2000 costs more, but how do you compare the two guns for those of you who have shot both as far as accuracy, trigger feel, and comfort. Thanks!

First off, welcome to THR!
Secondly, the P2000 is just now becoming available to the civilian market, so you may not get too many responses while the P99 has MANY fans. I doubt you'll go wrong with either & if you can't wait, save a few bucks & get the Walther

PS...I RARELY recommend non-HK's, but most of the time I can't wait to buy a new gun and the availability of the P2000 might be an issue & most of my gun buddies suffer from the same type of impatience

Might or might not be right considering this is what I've picked up and have little to no first-paw experience with either...
1. P99 is striker fired, P2000 has a hammer (I doubt it makes any difference in function or manual of arms, the difference seems to be more mechanical)
2. P99 may have pre-ban mags floating around? The P2000 you can, in theory, use USP40C magazines to get 13 round magazines. According to the ATF it's kosher but CYBYWY with regard to local and state laws. Farting in public is illegal in California.
3. I seen pics of guys hanging M3s lights off their P2000s. Not sure if SureFires fit nor do I know if the P99s can take a light.

The P99 takes a light made by Laser Devices. It's supposed to be good. The P99 has an extremely short trigger reset.

P99 does have a choice of light, laser, or light+laser available (not cheap). And don't forget you can get a threaded barrel for the P99 and piss off the BATF...
