Hello,

I have attached rollers to the compass slingshot design.

But this time, I went all the way - I attached rollers at the top AND the bottom of the frame, adding more than 30 cm (12") of rubber! This is so much that you have to pull out a bit in order to move the pouch over the top of the forks... but the result is worth the efforts, a ton of power in a small frame.

I even made the bottom rollers detachable, so if you need a compact slingshot, then you can simply shoot it without the draw length increase.

I used tiny ball bearings (inside dia 8mm, outside dia 12mm) for the pulleys, those are from RC cars... They work really well.

I am pleased with the way it came out!

JoergS, Thats pretty cool. Do you have access to a chrony? I would like to see some fps listed. Do you have access to carbon arrows? might be able to launch those;)

I have used plenty of tubes. They aren't bad, easy to make and long lasting. But tubes can simply not compete with flat bands when it comes to power. At the same draw weight, flat bands will simply deliver way faster shots. I think that is because of the lower inner friction. The thinner the flat bands, the faster the shot.

Joerg, Every time I watch one of your videos I can't help but think you could make a sling shot by holding out your hand with your thumb and pointer finger making the Y and just hook the elastics on your finger and thumb....

Nice work.

thanks for takeing the time to answer my question.I've made a few Hawiian slings, arrow shooters and slingshots, but I've always used rubber ''trucker's rope'' [solid black rubber,or sometimes 3/8'' tube cargo ties] or surgical tubeing.Good to know.
