Has anyone shot a compensated auto in low light conditions? Does it impair your vision considerably more than standard firearms? Is the compensator worth it?
I put a bushing comp on my Springfield Armory 5" 1911 .45 to awnser that very question. It CAN totally cancel your night vision if your ammo has any kind of muzzle flash. As you already know the comp funnels the gasses (flash) upwards to reduce the muzzle climb. (If you are concerned about recoil or muzzle climb there are better ways to reduce both rather than using a comp). If you are using this Wpn. for a CCW then I would not recomend a comp at all. If for competition go for it. Just my humble opinon. Hope this helps.
