Hi, I shoot in a Regional and National competition almost every year with the American Criminal Justice Association - Lambda Alpha Epsilon. I believe our rules are a hybrid between a couple different divisions, not really sure. I shoot my Glock 17 regularly (sometimes I use a friends Kimber 45 ACP) and really enjoy shooting competitions but would like to shoot more than two per year. Anyone have any advice on which division I might like to try? And any locals to central florida that know of competitions that are held regularly and open to the public? Any information would be great, always willing to listen to helpful advice.

Here is a link to our national firearms page, so you have some idea on the competition I'm used to.

You can always check out Volusia County Hunt and Gun Club and Flager Gun Club.
Iirc, they do both IDPA and carbine matches.

LRPC.org(Lakeland Rifle and Pistol Club)Map to club on website.
LRPC is a private club but intros for interested prospective new members and guests is not unusual. We have a mini-pin match (top half of bowling pins) this Saturday 9 AM(Second Sat. every month). It is a timed match for 5 mini-pins at 12 yards. 5 rounds so 25 rounds per complete match. Four classes-Carry, Centerfire, Revolver, and Rimfire. Any sight system allowed except carry- open sights only & 3.5" barrel max.

Lakeland IDPA (Alturas area) third Saturday every month. Sign up at 8:30 AM. First shots at 9AM. I can send you a map next Wed. if you're interested.
