I was wondering if anyone has tried the Compstock Shotgun Stock by Blackhawk. I blew my shoulder out a few years ago and spent a year rehabbing it. It's never going to be 100%, and I want to do what I can to reduce recoil. I'd be interested in knowing how it compares to Limbsaver recoil pads or the pads you slip over your shoulder. I have a 12 gauge Pardner Pump as well as a Mossberg 500 20 gauge I'm picking up at the end of the week (I wasn't looking for one, but stumbled on a deal for a used one I couldn't pass up). Their main use is home defense, although if the recoil on the Mossberg is manageable I'd like to buy a longer barrel to shoot trap with.

A gas gun that weighs 8#+ shooting light target loads will give you the least recoil. Since HD is the use, using the low-recoil versions will go a long way in helping. making sure the gun actually fits you is also paramount
