I'm thinking of making an S&WSc my CC weapon but I need some holster advice. I prefer to carry IWB and really prefer to be able to tuck my shirt. But I'm open to other ideas for IWB or SOB carry. Mostly what I'm looking for is a holster the supports the gun well. Even the Sc seems heavy to me and I'd really like to fin d a good holster that made carrying a 1911 easier. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Mitch Rosen makes a iwb holster (think its the Workman) that allows you to tuck in your shirttail over the weapon/holster.

The Milt Sparks Summer Special was recommended to me by istructors at Thuinder Ranch. It worked well but I eventually went to a smaller carry piece(mini-Glock).

The Versa Max 2 is very popular with fellow gunclub members.
Also made by Milt Sparks--

Sorry, neither are tuckables.

Hard to beat the Milt Sparks VMII mentioned above. You will also need a good gunbelt to go with it. I carry with one of these and have tried many other solutions. This is the best I have ever tried by far. I even carry all steel commanders and a full size with rail with great comfort.

Absofreackinlutely, the Milt Sparks Versa-Max II !!!!!!!!!!

They USED to come with both belt loops AND the Kydex tuckable clips-now, they only come with the belt loops and you have to order the clips separately, BUT, they work, & they work well.

The offset loops and/or clips of the VM-II distribute the weight of even an all-steel 5" 1911 or S&W 45XX or 10XX series pistol, especially if used with their gunbelt (mine is 1 3/4", which is the maximum width belt you can fit inside a regular pair of Lee jeans).

The tuckable feature of the clips is very good too-the clips will grab perfectly onto the seam/lip of a pair of blue jeans, then the belt cinchs them down even better, and the shirt is then tucked into position on the clip. They work best with single-stack autos and a shirt colored something other than white.

I have carried my Sc in a CTAC Slide for about 6 months. It makes for a very safe, secure, and comfortable carry. Because it is the Slide I also carry my regular size 1911's in it too. I recommend it for the Sc highly.

Nice holster...

Dairycreek, is that holster a shirt tucker holster as well? If so, it's perfect. I read the website and it says it combines the shirt tucker and another model but it doesn't say anything about it specifically being a shirt tucker model. I know like know things for sure. Lemme know and thanks.
