If you lose your badge can you slap the cop that confronts you, or do you have to be member of Congress?

As i understand the Texas law if you have something that "shows" you are carrying you are in violation of the CHL law. Concealed means concealed.

Before retirement, I was a LEO for thirty years, much of it in plain clothes. I could never understand plain clothes officers that would go into restaurants, stores, etc with their sidearm, badge, etc showing. Far as I could see, it just said, as has alreadfy been pointed out, shoot me first. IMO if an individual has a ccw permit, the idea of wearing a badge, star, whatever, falls into the same catagory.

Interestingly (for CA), there are a couple of local cities where this happens a lot. In one city, walk into any of the sushi places (the only decent food in this particular city), and you can see the local plainclothes LEO's over in the corner, jackets off, having their lunch. In plain view of the street, even. In another (smaller) town, I've seen off duty cops wandering through the carnival openly carrying. Very curious.

Two dumb things.

1. Carrying a silly badge so you can play pretend cop.

2. Being a guard in a store with a uniform and badge but NOT being allowed to carry a gun. Now that is really asking for it!

Red Star? Geez, when I visited the Workers' Paradise I brought back some tin red stars of the type worn on Mao hats. Can I wear one of those and meet the criteria without being mistakenly shot for being a commie?

When I first read this I was thinking you were going to say that you propped up a wobbley table with a CCW badge.
