My friend and I were debating about which is the most popular concealed carry firearm.

I think it would be the 5 shot J-frame type of handgun.

He thought it would be a small auto like a P-32, Tomcat, NNA Guardian, etc.

Are there any websites, etc. that would have the facts to settle our little debate?:neener:

What handgun do you think is the most common type for concealed carry?

Thanks for your opinions...

If you're going by the type of weapon rather than the maker or model, I think the small auto would win. I'm unaware of any websites that would confirm this, and I hope there aren't any. (How could anyone prove this without registration?)

Small auto, with "small" meaning comparable to a PPK/S or smaller.

I am saving my nickles and dimes....

for a P32 or the new P3AT. Live in a warm climate so belt carry of a full size pistol is out and a fanny pack does not go with all types of dress.....chris3

I carry a Combat Commander everyday without any problem. It gets to be 100 here on occasion and mid 90's anyway in the summer. I dont work in an office and I'm not bound by a dress code, so that makes it easier. I'm actually more self concious carrying my Baby Browning in a pocket than I am a full sized pistol in a holster. I'd rather carry a pistol I dont need to get into contact range with and make them say "aahhhh". At that range, a good knife would actually be better. A much more devistating wound.

Most of the pholks that I know carry a small frame 9MM. Sig P-239, Glock 19 or 26, S&W 3913 etc. I know a few that carry J frame cowboy guns, and almost none that carry .380, .32 etc.

Of course, most of the people that I know who carry regularly are retired LE. Maybe theres a lesson here?
