No, not skinny like you 150lb guys.

I'll start off by saying I'm not yet of age to get a CHL, but that just gives me a couple more years to think about it. I'm just a quarter inch short of six feet tall, and weigh somewhere between 125 and 130 lbs. To make it more complicated, I'm a lefty who prefers a crossdraw (I think that is what it is called? I usually carry a knife on the right side). When I finally do hit 21, what would my options be? How big of a pistol and where could I hide it on myself?

Not a problem, and it may actually be easier for you.

Here's why. Most adult male clothing is made for "fat guys" :). As such, a shirt made for the average 6" tall guy has a waist measurement in the 40"-50" range. That lots and lots loose clothing to hide a pistol under. Loose clothing is going to be the norm, forget about tight fitting shirts one you CCW.

Crossdraw from the 1 o'clock position will hide well on you.

I agree with the others; very easy for a skinny guy to conceal. Just go with the usual advice and get a good holster and belt. Also, if you've got a couple years, you'll gain a few pounds. 2-3 years ago I was 6'4" and 150lbs. Three years has added thirty pounds. Us lanky guys grow up first, then put on the meat.

I'm like you, except a bit heavier. I'm 6' and around 165-170. When it comes time for me to get a CCW, I'll have to see what kind of rig I can find. I like full-sized handguns, so my carry will probably be a 10mm Witness Match, the smallest handgun I will have at that time.

I was 5'8" at 20, 120 lbs. Now at age 46, I'm 5'8", 140 lbs.
I can conceal a full size auto if I want, but I don't usually carry a full size.

Hey, I eat plenty. I've been known to eat more than my dad, and he's almost double my weight.

Thanks all for the advice. I don't generally wear clothing tucked in, or tight. All my shirts are larges because anything smaller grabs at the neck.

I guess now I just don't have a reason to worry about staying skinny. I like the look and smallness of the Walther PPK but am probably going to go with a P 64 because it's Polish and so am I. Does anyone have any experience with these and could share how well they work for CCW? The most I have heard about them is that they have horrible DA trigger pulls. I figure that if it's going to be a carry gun, then it might as well be cocked so that's one less thing I have to worry about.

You are just reaching the age where you will start filling out. Up until now you have been basically growing taller. In a few more years this may be a moot point. Wait until you are of age to carry to make those decisions.

Or you could get a PA-63- got a decent reputation, decent cartridge, $140 from SOG, light, comfortable, and still Polish.

Start looking into proper nutrition and a workout regime.

With this route, you will not only be healthier and in shape, but you will be able CCW without any issues :neener:

really?

I wish i had that problem. One I got out less than year ago and have Lots of extra lbs.
Two, no ccw can be gotton in my neck of the PRK.

Count your blessings, i am jealous.

I dunno, dude. I'm 24, 6'1, and weigh 150 ,and I haven't gained an ounce since I was 18.And I've been married for the last two years. Anyhow, shirts that fit my shoulders are generally pretty loose in the waist. I could carry a 5" 1911 easily if I wanted to (or rather if I could, here in IL) with plenty of room to spare, and I bet you could too.

Don't get too far ahead of yourself. Chances are very good you will fill out some between now and then, so don't worry until the time comes. Custom leather sheath makers deal with this sort of thing all the time, do some research, find a few who have designs you like then call them up and explain where you're coming from. One of them will be able to help you out.
