Concealing a Beretta 92

I'm jonesing for one of these pretty bad not only as a range gun but probably for CCW as well.
How do you folks conceal one of these? In particular what brands of IWB and OWB do you find to be the best?

I have concealed mine in a FIST #1.
I works while standing up, but it gets a little uncomfortable when sitting down!!! The 92 was never meant as a concealed carry weapon!!

I've always favored a simple belt-slide holster for summertime carry, but it requires a garmant long enough to cover the muzzle end of the weapon while bending over.

My summer carry piece, therefore, is a Beretta 92FS Compact. The shorter slide and barrel make life easier.

When the weather is cooler I use a Bianchi vertical shoulder holster.

I recommend a Milt Sparks VersaMaxII. It is an IWB holster.

The recommendations above are likely better than mine, but...Just on a whim, I bought a Safariland Model 27 IWB (J-hook) for the Beretta 92, because the store had some of them in their "closeout bin". (Actually, a closeout bucket.) Apparently some LE agency had ordered a few for off-duty carry, then changed their mind.
Anyhow, the day I went to pick up my Ohio License to Carry, was heading on to the club to do some shooting with my B-92, so it became my first (legal) carry piece. That Safariland holster seemed to work pretty well, so I went back and bought the Model 27 they had for a Glock 17/22 also. Not often would I choose one of these big bastar--um, blasters--as a CCW piece, but again this Safariland product works just fine. Plus they're really thin and relatively comfy.

When I carried the Beretta 92F as a duty weapons. I used a Versa Max from Milt Sparks or the LFI rig from Ted Blocker. Both good systems and inside the belt. Large gun but concealable with the right holster and belt. Both are important.

Get a 92 Compact... that wouldn't be as bad to conceal.

There's some good responses on here I'm glad to see. I've always had a 92F as my main carry gun. Never had a good conceal holster for it. Just had it tucked into my right side between t-shirt and levis, with a loose shirt over it. Never liked the fact that if I had to do some running, the pistol would probably fly out. I'll probably see if I can pick up one of the above mentioned IWB holsters.

I use the Safariland 27 for my Sig Pro. It is quite good. I will probably get one for my Taurus 92.

DeSantis Cozy Partner, IWB

I've used a DeSantis Cozy Partner for the following:

Glock 20
Beretta 96 Inox Brigadier
Beretta 96 Inox Compact L
Beretta 92 Inox Compact L Type M

Of all the listed, the 92 Type M is the what many would consider the most "concealable", however even the big G20 10mm isn't bad. The full size 92 is only slightly slimmer than the Brig(in practical terms), so if my Brig wasn't a problem, the standard 92 shoud be okay too.

Of course, all of this also depends on body size and type. Holsters, like any other item of personal wear, are a very personable item. What works for me and 6 or 7 out of ten other people, may not be the cat's meow for someone else.

best concealment will always be a good IWB holster based on the "summer special"...mine, for a 1911, was the milt sparks

i can't carry that way anymore due to a lower back problem so i've pretty much gone with OWB or paddle holsters.

for serious CCW, as opposed to just going back and forth to work, i carry my beretta 92/96 in an alessi ACP (modification of his DOJ holster). not really much of a problem...just careful clothing choices

I was never able to comfortably carry my Taurus PT99 in a IWB holster. Just too big. Best holster I've ever had for the full size 1911 is a Sparks Summer Special 2 so other than the difference in thickness of the guns, I'd imagine one would do roughly equally well with the Beretta.

I've never owned any of the higher end kydex holsters.

the problem i have ccw my beretta 92 compact is not the size which is comparable to a g19 but the weight. - it is almost a pound heavier and it lets you know in no uncertain manner..

Now see... I had less of an issue with the weight. When I tried to carry the 99AF IWB, I had been carrying a 1911 in the Summer Special 2. I believe a loaded steel 1911 is about the same weight as a loaded Beretta... Just the thickness was what I had an issue with. Matter of fact, I just went down to a G23 with 10 round mags, then to a Kahr P9 Covert.



In my experience, if you have a good holster and a good belt, weight of the gun is more easily dealt with than the thickness of the gun. And the fact that the Beretta has the big ole fat grip to contend with.
