The CDC needs to stick to its core mission - disease control, finding cures for diseases and not meddling in gun control
Yup... Might as well invite the AMA in there with those two groups."The deal includes $12.5 million each for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institutes of Health to study gun violence and ways to prevent it." You can't get any more anti-gun than these two organizations. Results of this study: Guns are to blame for "gun violence", get rid of guns and no more violence. They should give me the $25M.

Yes, they will blame guns.... And they will also omit to explain that medical mistakes causes a heck of a lot more deaths each year then gun violence...
What is intersting is more people are killed in this nation with hands and feet than with firearms.
Where is the Study on that?
Because you cant regulate nor tax hand and feet as weapons.
The term "gun violence" by itself is misleading and an attempt to psychologically associate an inanimate object with "bad things". Criminals do bad things, guns do not.
“What if” will get a thread closed pretty quickly. Let’s just see what the report says. We may be surprised. We may not. I would love to have IG Horowitz and his team do the investigation.Devil’s advocate, here. What if, some how, this comes to fruition and puts actual, measurable figures out there, with which we can actually intercede and reduce harm? What if it reveals a correlation somewhere that promotes intervention but does so without violating rights?
Here’s a fun idea, what if their research offers concrete evidence of all the stuff people say anecdotally on here? “An armed community is a safe community,” comes to mind.
I’m suspicious of about anything the government does, but I’ve often wished I had research to use when talking to people about this issue, and the fbi stuff is all we really have. If it’s objective, then frankly, I welcome it. I doubt it will be, but if it happens I hope to be surprised.
Also, speaking of me being surprised, I’m shocked this thread hasn’t been closed.

Guns do bad things. They some rust, others malfunction and the really evil ones throw your brass into the woods, thus not allowing it to be recycled. The term "gun violence" by itself is misleading and an attempt to psychologically associate an inanimate object with "bad things".
