One of the things I've learned in martial arts training over the last three decades, is sometimes the best way of getting across a point is leading by example. Connecticut isn't my fight, directly; I'm from Illinois, never been to CT, have no plans of ever going to CT; but I sure do feel for those gun owners. (We are constantly defending against an AWB in Illinois; so I can empathize.)

Anyway, leading by example;

Hello TRENTON XXXX,

This email confirms that you have donated $100.00 USD to Connecticut Citizens Defense League Inc ([email protected]) using PayPal.

There's mine - part of the proceeds from the Concealed Carry class I taught last weekend.

Are you.... Next....?

If so, do it, and be the next "lead by example" for the next person to follow.

Bump.

As I posted in the other thread

Trent...... Bravo my friend, Bravo.

I'll peel off some CA donation money and toss some $$ that way too as soon as my next paycheck come in. (Daughter just got married and I literally just spent around $3500 extra to ship her and all of her belonging across the country to be with her new Army husband.)

I'll be sending some later this week as well, and posting this on my local state CCW board to try and gain additional support for the CCDL

Even if only 1% of the ~80 million gun owners sent them a mere $5, that would give them $4 million to help their cause

I have a $150 check written out to CCDL that is going in the mail tomorrow morning.

Anyone else wanna ante up?
This may not be directly your fight, but we all have skin in this game.

$50 Done!

I still haven't been paid yet but will in a few more days.

Money is still tight for me and will be for a little while due to the reasons I mentioned above.

I spent $30 on 22lr on Fri. The 1st time Ive spent any money on firearms related in about 2 months. :(

Damn daughter has to go get married and move far away me. :(:( If I wasn't so happy for her Id be PO'd. :D

.

Don't know if the CCDL does this, but in my experience one good program VCDL has is its "Adopt a Gun Store" program.

I've adopted a couple of gun stores in my area.

VCDL supplies me with:
1. Pamphlets telling about the organization.
2. Wallet cards (after you fold them) with a list of places where carrying is prohibited in VA, and listing the state statute / law for many in the list.
www.vcdl.org/sites/default/files/VCDL_Carry_Card_2013.pdf
3. An upright Plexiglas case to hold both the pamphlets and cards.

They send me the supplies as I need them - I keep an eye on the holder at the local stores.

Things were slow the first year or so, but over the last 2 or so years, folks have been picking them up on a regular basis. I didn't have to refill the holder the entire year the first year - I've refilled them twice so far this year.

Regulars that frequent the shop who teach CC courses have made off with quite a few to give out to students at their classes - they've been told to take all they need - I'll keep resupplying the holders.

No doubt this is great advertisement for VCDL - if CCDL doesn't have such a program, you might mention it to them?
