My local gun shop, a very fine establishment with a terrific inventory, staff and reputation for integrity has on hand what appears to be a really lovely Python. I have quoted their description and offering price below.

"Colt Python .357 Magnum caliber revolver. Rare “Don Tedford All American” special custom shop edition. This was part of a very limited run of 40 guns made by the custom shop in the 1970’s and specially tuned by Don Tedford, who was a competitive shooter and head of the custom shop. Excellent condition with just a couple of handling marks. A must have for the Python collector. $2,850.00 "

I would be interested in comments from the Forum on the asking price (which is usually negotiable ... a bit) and the particular gun described. Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

Wow! That gun would need some serious inspection before I plopped down my son's college fund on it...but if you like it, it passes inspection & it doesn't break the bank...get it!!

Collecting is something where you set your own personal goals and standards. There are many Pythons that have been tuned by great gunsmiths. There are also many limited edition Pythons. Whether or not this Python fits in your budget and scheme of collecting is up to you. I believe it's overpriced, but if it's at the place I'm guessing you see it at then they do tend to overprice some things.
