Considering Selling my XD, Need Pricing Help

I am thinking of selling my 6 year old XD9. I have shot a couple of thousand rounds through it. It functions perfectly, but it has some finish wear (no rust or pitting of any kind). I have two ten round magazines and one fifteen round magazine. My problem is that I do not know how much to ask for the weapon.

Any ideas of what would be a reasonable asking price?

Also, I still have a few hundred rounds of 9 mm. Is there an easy way to sell or trade ammo?
 
Take it to a gun shop and have them give you the price they would buy it at.
Double that price and that is probably close to what you can get, selling privately.

You don't know anybody that shoots 9mm that you can give the ammo to? Don't think you will ever own another 9mm pistol?

Most gun shops will not accept ammo, but you can use ammo to sweeten a deal in a private sale. I haven't seen too many used XD but if you compare them to the price of a Glock, a 6 year old used XD would be around $300, same as I paid for a used glock 17.

Any reason why your selling it? XD seem to be nice guns
 
For a gun that old with reasonable wear and the mags you mentioned, I think Lonestar's estimate of $300 is pretty reasonable. I sold my new-ish XD9 last year FTF with 2 15-rd mags for $350.00 but I was kind of in a hurry to sell it.

If you do an FTF deal, you can get more money if you figure in the ammo.
 
i would think that 300 would be a pretty reasonable price. ive been looking for a used xd for some time, but they are very few and far between. i saw a very lightly used xd at cabellas last week for 425. where in missouri do you live, as i would be interested if i didnt have to drive 9 hrs.
 
If money is that tight, i'd hold on to the XD9 and just start saving your pennies for the XD45.

You're going to be paying $75+ per 1000 rounds more than for the 9mm.

Otherwise, I would think you could sell the package for $375-400 on line for a face to face deal.

i would offer you $350 for it and the ammo if i had the money right now but i do not. i would love to have an xd in 9mm, cheaper to shoot than my .40 models.
