Constant eye relief in variable scopes?

I use only Bushnell Elite 3200 handgun scopes for handgun silhouette shooting, not because I think Bushnell is that great, (i prefer Leupold), but every other manufacturer has varying eye relief (of which is much shorter than the Bushnell's), when changing powers. My questions to any of you optic Buffs out there;
Why can't/won't the other manufacturers follow suit and produce a constant relief scope as well? Is it a big engineering feat? I would like the option of go to a bit higher than 6X, but everyone else's relief is waaay shorter than 20". I need as much relief as possible while shooting in my modified "Dead Frog" position. This was the primary reason I went with Leupold for all my optic needs many years ago. All my optics, scopes, spotting scopes, binoculars, range finder are Leupold. It's just not worth wasting my money on garbage. I can't live with glass that doesn't provide an instant full image. Ever been hunting and have to quickly shoulder up for a shot, and then have to play around to get the picture? I haven't had to deal with that in nearly 30 yrs., or since switching all my glass over to Leupold. Most of my friends think I'm either nuts or stupid because, when I buy a rifle that comes with the package glass, usually Bushnell or other worthless glass, I pull it off and toss it in the trash can or give it away. Even Leupld's bottom shelf 3x9x40 ($200-ish) is clean and full eye relief glass, precise MOA adjustments that corespond accurately with BDC's, won't fog, 100% water proof, permantly coated optics, and gas pressurized to 1000' below water.

I have Leupold binoculars and scopes that are almost 30 yrs. old, and they are still as clean and good as the day I bought them.

Game, I agree with you, they are the best for the money, but.....the eye relief is shorter on thier handgun scopes! Why??
