"The CP candidate would not win, BUT WHAT A MESSAGE WE WOULD MAKE. We could really flex our muscles that way and show how strong we are."
You'd show how strong we are by losing??
All that would show to the likes of Obama and/or Hillary is that "See, we didn't need them after all so we can do whatever we want and they are powerless to stop us."
Now, while I am inclined to be a Constitutionalist, I am also a realist. If I had my druthers, I'd rather live under a benevolent dictatorship than a malevolent one. Not much of a choice, I know, but Libertarianism or Constitutionalism, apart from "making a point" really aren't any of the choices. It's like being forced into a vegetarian restaurant and being told, "you'll have to order from the menu or else we'll decide what you get." Well, if I vote my conscience and ask for a 10 oz. ribeye, then I get stuck with cabbage, or I can at least ask for something less offensive that I can stomach like salad and a baked potato. Do I get what I wanted? No, but I still get to eat.
