First of all, What organization would I contact to express an interest in three gun competition? Secondly, would I stand a chance at being competitive with stock AR, pump shottie and 1911? By stock I mean no added gadgets, open and bead sights? Thanks in advance.

USPSA/IPSC is the only large organization putting on 3-gun and multigun competition that I know of. Read the rules on that site and use the directory to find a club near you. Contact them and see if they do 3-gun.

There are assorted outlaw organizations doing shoots here and there. Probably the local USPSA guys know about them.

Nothing wrong with a 1911 or AR. You will have to stir your stumps to keep up with a pumpgun, but what is wrong with that? Were you planning on winning?

At least in all the matches I've been to, there are separate divisions for iron sights and optics. If you have irons, you're only competing against other folks with irons.

Thanks, Jim!

I just looked over the USPSA web site and ordered some info from them. Also saw some links to local clubs and matches. As for getting my hustle on with a pump shotgun, maybe that's what I need to lose this spare tire I've accumulated in the last ten years or so! Now about planning on winning, I probably need to brush up a lost skill set before I can aim for that! Got off active duty in "96 and it's been downhill since then (as far as shooting skill).
