Two that I have in mind. One is the SAR 9 Mete (Safari) and the other is the Girsan Regard MC (Beretta M9 clone). The purchase will probably be a few months down the road, maybe even a Christmas gift to myself.

The SAR9 Mete:

Other than a few minor differences in the slide it's basically the same as the SAR9 (which I own).

For those who feel the irresistible urge to "warn me" about "unknown" Turkish guns I suggest you do some research before inserting feet and chewing vigorously.

Asking "Should I buy more gun?" question on enablers support group known as THR ... I mean what could go wrong and what could be the responses? :p

My suggestion would be to come up with two excuses to buy BOTH guns ... Perhaps to celebrate Thanksgiving and Black Friday. ;)

Oh. Well, they’re right out then. We can’t have them hit anything now after all these movies.

Ya know, those two are pretty cool and I like them but I've been taking another look at an older model, the Taurus G3c in 40 S&W. I have the G2c in 9 mil and love it so why not.
Oh I know, it's a Taurus, I'll lose the rest of the hair on my scalp, my eyebrows will grow together, I'll get acne, grow hair on my palms and if I fire it (and it works) it will summon a demon from Hell to torment me forever more......... It's okay, I at least have the last one covered, I carry holy water just in case.

I think I'd rather try an Arex Delta over the Sar9. A coworker bought a Sar9. It has good ergos and price, but not a great trigger.

My SAR9 has amazing ergos and a great super crisp trigger, maybe your co-worker got a bad one. Or is just an ultimate trigger snob....... Dunno.

Glock called! they say the Gen 7’s will come in extra bright colors and the same classic plastic triggers

Go with the one that fits your needs the best. And I agree not to let the naysayers get to you. SAR and Girsan get good reviews.

For me personally, I would go with the SAR9 simply because I never could warm up to the Beretta M9 while I was in the Army. I just couldn't shoot it as well as the 1911A1.

I already have a SAR9 (black) I bought years ago that I love and was considering the Mete version in the Safari color because I like the color scheme. If they came out with a 40 S&W I'd probably snap it up in a heartbeat, as long as it was in my Scrooge budget...... :)

Ok, I'm going to show my non-knowledge of semi auto pistols; altho I do have and shoot a SA 1911-A1 often. Here goes: what is the difference between the trigger on my 1911-A1 and those two shown by OP? Just more of a revolver guy. Thanks.

1911 triggers are typically (but not always) the best triggers there are. Striker fired (no hammer) can be very good to absolutely horrible depending on the gun and the shooter, that is whether the shooter is a trigger snob or not or whether it's a combat or match trigger.

I had a couple of the fancier versions of this model Girsan and cannot recommend them. I had some mechanical issues with one of them and Girsan customer service was so bad that I eventually got the issue fixed locally and sold all 3 of my Girsan pistols. I will not buy another Girsan ever again.

Does not save me money in the long run to buy a cheaper pistol if the mfg will not warranty their defects and I have to end up paying for the repairs myself.

Since you already have a SAR9 and a G2, you're close to just buying the same gun again ( kinda like me and 1911s ). So my choice would be the Girsan. Have you looked at the Caniks?

I looked at the Caniks but went with SAR instead, it's a much better sidearm. As for the Girsan I decided I'm not really all that interested, I'll stick with Tisas and SAR. I did order the G3C in 40 S&W, should be here soon.
