I need to know form people out there that converted form a 40 or 357 to a 9mm with a conversion barrel from pistolgear, stormlake, EFK, or Barsto and you have used a 9mm mag - DID YOU HAVE ANY FEED OR RELIABILITY ISSUES?

I posted a similar question and got some real help but in my research I found that many people who had used a conversion barrel like the ones above and had issues was becuase they were using the 40 or 357 mags and not a 9mm mag.

I would like to hear from those who tried the conversion barrel and also tried the 9mm mag, if they had feed/reliability issues. Also please let me know which brand you used and woudl like to hear about your experience.

My range setup is a Glock 22 with the Storm lake 9mm conversion. I run glock 9mm mags. 2000+ Rounds so far. The only problems (maybe 2-3) were within the first 50 rounds or so. After the barrel mated with the gun it has been 100 %. I am very happy with it.

I've got a G23C with a Stormlake 9mm conversion barrel that worked flawlessly with the original G23 mags at first. After 10 to 20 rounds I started having feeding problems. I haven't gotten any G19 mags yet but I plan to. Most folks on this forum say that will solve my feeding issue.

Danman8520, do you have any issues when you go back to the Stock 40 barrel??? Does it have any reliability issues? Where did you get it?

I have not run into any issues going back to stock. And as said before it has proven to be reliable. I think i got it at Stormlakebarrels.com

I've got the Lone Wolf threaded 9mm conversion barrel for my G22. I do use G17 mags without any issues. I have less than 100 rounds thru it however. I haven't shot it suppressed yet.

I have a Glock 22 which I have used with a factory 357 barrel and a Lone wolf 9mm barrel. The 357 ran without issue. The 9mm had a couple of problems using an aftermarket 33 round mag. It ran through a couple hundred rounds without issue using both factory and aftermarket 9mm mags. I was still using the 40 extractor and ejector.

Bane,

Can you clarify? Did the 9mm have issues or not, sorry didn't understand

"The 9mm had a couple of problems using an aftermarket 33 round mag. It ran through a couple hundred rounds without issue using both factory and aftermarket 9mm mags. I was still using the 40 extractor and ejector."

I don't have any logical reason for it but I am still nervous that somehow the conversion barrel will cause wear on the gun and affect its reliability when you switch back to the original stock barrel.

I have a Wolf 9mm conversion barrels for both my G27 and G23c. I have the
G19, G26 and G17 mags with them without any issues.

Has anyone found problems converting between generations?

I'm asking because I bought a StormLake barrel for my G19 3rd gen. to shoot lead bullet reloads and I keep seeing Gen. two police returned G23's for sale in Bud's lately.

So I start thinking 'Why not buy a G23, keep my Stormlake, sell the G19, and end up with a second gen G23 for .40 and 9mm.

G23 with Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel and G19/17/33 Mags.

NO PROBLEMS IN OVER 2yrs OF OWNERSHIP.
Will
